Gov. Ugwuanyi Hosts Coaches, Players of Enugu Rangers

As teams warm up for the commencement of the 2017/2018 Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) season on Sunday, January 14, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, last night, played host to the new and old players of Enugu Rangers International Football Club.

The event was held at the banquet hall of the Government House, Enugu.

He also hosted at the event, the Club’s Management and winners of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) Under 15 Football Competition, “The Gburugburu Starlets”.

Gov. Ugwuanyi who noted that his administration holds both the Starlets and Rangers in high esteem, rewarded and motivated them with wholesome cash donations, respectively, saying: “We are proud of all of you”.

The governor also promised Rangers the sum of N1million for every match they win in the coming season.

He congratulated the Starlets for the trophy and prayed for the success of Rangers in the new season for them to win the NPFL, stressing that Enugu Rangers mean more than a football club to him and the people of the South East geo-political zone and beyond.

Earlier in the day, the 17 new players of Enugu Rangers were unveiled to the fans of the Club at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.
