Naira, Rice Rain as DUNAETA Unveils Plans for Umahi’s Second Term

Gov. Dave Umahi, Chairman, South East Governors Forum

David Umahi Nweze Akubaraoha Ebonyi Transformation Agenda (DUNAETA), acclaimed Non- Governmental Organisation, has launched a campaign for the reelection of Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State.

The group also unveiled what it described as its visionary programme of action for 2018.

Founder of the organisation, Lady Monica Ada Eze who doubles as Technical Assistant on Media to the Governor made this disclosure at the International Conference Centre, Abakaliki where she distributed some bags of Ebonyi State Rice and undisclosed amount of cash to eight public commentators who distinguished themselves in the Social Media on issues pertaining to Governor Umahi and the activities of Ebonyi State government.

In a statement issued on Friday in Abakaliki, Pharmacist Nnenna Eunice Augustine, special media aide to the DUNAETA President disclosed that since the appointment of her boss as Technical Assistant to the Governor on 20th October, 2016 she has published over 20 articles and over 25 Press Statements propagating and promoting the activities of Governor Umahi and that of the Ebonyi State government.

“Eze is so committed towards the re-election bid of Governor Umahi come 2019 and will not mind whatever it will cost her to achieve this goal in view of the tremendous changes and infrastructural revolution he has brought to bear in Ebonyi State,” the statement read.

Quoting from the DUNAETA President’s speech, Augustine said: “Today, the Governor has become the new face of democracy and positive development in Nigeria that I wonder why some groups of people are attempting to frustrate his second term bid.

“Let me at this juncture, commend and congratulate Governor Umahi for making the difference so far as governance is concerned in Nigeria. Time and space can’t permit me to enumerate most of the feats of this energetic, visionary and outstanding Governor, but I am convinced that no right thinking person will fail to acknowledge that Governor Umahi has delivered on his mandate.

“If President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria could attest to the great things Governor Umahi has achieved in Ebonyi State, I expect most of the opposition political leaders to learn from our dear President and accord Engr. Dave Umahi his rightful place in the politics of Ebonyi State. I must reiterate that Umahi is one of the best things that has ever happened to the people of Ebonyi State.”

In his remarks, Senator Emmanuel Onwe, who hosted the event but spoke through Prince Anya Okorie, described Eze as a trailblazer who other aides of Governor Umahi should emulate. He pledged support towards assisting Eze to succeed in her task of making the difference through her appointment.

Evangelist Prince Nwoba Solomon who won the most prestigious Gold award described the DUNAETA founder thus: “She is such a paragon of beauty. An intelligent cum humble leader and a philanthropist extraordinary. What she has demonstrated today is that she is a microcosm of Engr. Umahi so the state should expect more from this great lady of our time.

“While other Technical Assistants are complaining of their meager salaries she still deeps hand in her pocket to appreciate her numerous fans. She started from sharing call cards of different denominations N500, N1,000 on her Facebook timeline and page. Later, she converted it to a recharge context where the person with the highest number of recharge wins a prize. This kind gesture was truncated by one ingrate who recharged and refused to identify him/herself let alone showing appreciation.”

She later changed the game to answer and win promo, where the person(s) with the highest number of win emerged.

“But today she did not only fulfill the pledge but also extended the appreciation to almost all her fans who were present during the award presentation at International Conference Center, Abakaliki.”

Eze expressed appreciation to Governor Umahi and several others including Senator Onwe, the Hon. Commissioner of Information whom she described as her immediate boss, mentor and motivator; her mother, Evangelist Ada C. H. Eze (Snr.), who acts as her Editor-in-Chief, Hon. Clement Nweke, Principal Secretary to the Governor as well as journalists and representatives of media organisations.
