He is A Man, Not ATM Machine

As a lady, I don’t know the number of times you have come across the statement: Don’t Treat Your Man Like An ATM Machine. Does it really pass a message to you or you view it as one of such ‘idiotic talks’? Well, in this piece, the Editor, GrassRoot.ng Romance page, Sandra Nnaemeka looks at why we shouldn’t develop the attitude of over dependence on ‘our men’; they are humans too”

I hope his piece repositions the minds of our ladies.

There is this believe that men should take full responsibility of their women. But how true can this be?  This belief has eaten deep into the minds of the society at large, leaving most women empty and lazy. Well to an extent men should take some responsibilities, and with love, but not at the expense of their lives!

Men are humans too!

They have needs and emotions like women, some men are even more emotional than women. And yes of course they also yearn and desire to be loved and cared for too. So? Why don’t we balance it?

A lot of pressure can make a man go crazy and frustrated.

However, some of these demands that comes on a daily basis can be threatening, demands like,

“Honey, please I need some money to make my hair”

“Hey boo, I need a trip to Las Vegas this holiday”.

“Hi sugar, can you buy that kimkardashian perfume for me”.

“Sweety, can I get a BK unique hair this Christmas”

“Daddy, please send airtime to me”

“Mine, I need some spending cash”

“Bobo m, please I want to upgrade my closet”

“Nna o, please buy sanitary pad for me when visiting”.

“Utom please I want to go and eat ice cream, can you take me?”

“Hi, Darling, please I need a new phone”

What do you call your man?

Women!! Women!! Women!!

Please can you let that man breathe? I don’t support men that shy away from their responsibilities, but at the same time I don’t want men that strive to be responsible feel down and frustrated by these demands.

As much as a man claims to love a woman and provide for her, no man wants a liability. Hey women! What if it were the reverse? Would you love to entertain these entire requests? Every day you are demanding for something that you can also afford, please for crying out loud, stop it. You can do better.

We are in the 21st century were the oriakus (money eaters) don’t weigh much in the society. The oriakus are liabilities no responsible man would love to have. This is a dispensation where okpatakus (money makers) are taking the lead in diverse ways.

To the leading women out there, double Gboza!!!

I like to mention one of the leading women who should inspire women to become more. The cosmetics industry would never go into oblivion because of the tangible investments made across the globe by one of the leading women, Tara Durathyon. Her antecedents speak volume and should inspire other women. She started very little and today she has become a global figure. Imagine if she was just relaxed making demands and not working hard to fulfill purpose?

Women, is time to think outside the box. There is something in you that need to be unleashed. You harbor a lot of potentials, just let it out. Don’t be lazy, who laziness epp? Stop demanding too much from your man, allow him to breathe. You know what this too much dependence on men does to you women? It only limits you from the abundance of wealth you can amass. Don’t always wait for a man to do it for you when you know with little hard work you can do, even better.

I encourage you today, hard work pays. And to every lady out there willing to work hard and make her life better, I wish you the best with love.
