A 25-year-old man, Aminu Mustapha, said to be a cleaner with Magama-Jibia Police Division in Katsina State, has been arrested for allegedly being in possession of 103 SIM cards and 13 passport photographs of police officers.
Mustapha, a resident of Magama-Jibia village in the Jibia Local Government Area of the state could not give satisfactory accounts of how he came about the items and what he planned to do with them.
The cleaner was arraigned before a Katsina senior magistrate court last Friday for offences which, the police said, was contrary to Section 319(A) of the Penal Code.
He was remanded in police custody till May 24, 2018 when his case would come up for mention before Senior Magistrate Hajiya Falile Dikko.
Police Prosecutor, Inspector Sani Ado, told the court that the exhibits were found on Mustapha, who is also known as Jega, on April 30. He added that the case was being investigated by the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department.
Hajiya Dikko directed that Mustapha be remanded in police custody till May 24 when his case would come up.
