At first I thought it was the usual back and forth playful banter. A colleague of mine at work Joshua was scrolling through my phone one day and saw my younger sister’s picture.
‘This is your sister is very fine o’ he exclaimed.
I just laughed, shrugged it off and said “you know how it goes; beauty gene runs in my family.”
We all laughed and got back to work. After that day, it became a routine, “how is your sister? How is my friend? How is my wife?”
I didn’t over think it initially, till one day I got home from work and my sister told me a colleague of mine called her, asking her out. Immediately my mind went to Joshua. I was slightly irritated, wondering where he got her number from and calling her behind my back too. The next day at work I asked him about it and he just laughed and said,
“I told you am serious, I really like her”.
I was bit confused though. I wasn’t fine with the idea of josh hovering around my younger sister knowing there was almost a 10 year gap between them. I called him outside and cleared him. Jokes apart, he should stay away from my younger sister.
To my utmost surprise, one week later, my sister came home very angry, saying Joshua came to her school and threatened her boyfriend to stay away from her saying he was her husband.
Hah, see trouble o.
I went to work the next day, guns blazing ready to rain down hell on Joshua. Immediately I saw him, I started shouting at him, to stay away from my sister and her life that I wasn’t playing no more. I was still huffing and panting when I noticed josh was crying silently. Immediately all my fight vibes drained.
“Haba, josh what is it now? What kind of drama is this, what is with the tears?”
“Babe I really love your sister, I don’t know, I have never felt this way before, I would love to come and see your parents, I’d like to marry her.”
I haven’t been able to fully process all this till now. I’m so confused. Josh is almost 30 and my sis is barely 17. Please what do I do?
