Nigeria’s foremost Logistics Solutions Provider, Red Star Express Plc, is set to boost Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in 2018.
The company is looking to achieve this by offering logistics support that are specifically tailored for the small businesses.
Recently, the company sponsored and participated in Trade Fairs and Exhibitions which includes MSME Trade Fair organized by the Nigerian Association of Small Scale Industrialists (NASSI) and the African Food and Products Exhibition organized by the Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce (NACC) all in May.
In his presentation titled “MSMEs: A Catalyst to Nigeria’s Export Promo Agenda”, the Divisional Managing Director for Red Star Freight Limited (a Subsidiary under Red Star Express Plc), Tonye Preghafi, explained to the participant at the Fair, that the company is interested in ensuring that their businesses are given the best support required to be successful.
“Red Star Express has positioned itself, with a sense of corporate responsibility, to provide adequate support for MSMEs that will enhance their capabilities and capacities. We will achieve this by assisting MSMEs to meet export and quality standards, regulations and technical specification.”
The services offered by Red Star Express Plc for SMEs include Same Day Delivery and Nationwide Express Delivery Services, Provision of E-commerce Distribution & Logistics Support for SMEs, Facilitating the import and export of bulk cargo and heavy weight consignments via Sea and Air.
The company also provides Warehousing, Supply Chain and Inventory Management Services for SMEs, Product Packaging and Labeling through appropriate packaging technology for MSMEs, as well as building alliances and partnerships with foreign organization to drive demand and market for Agro products.
In August 2017, the company launched the SME 1000 project, a platform created to connect SMEs within the Nigerian economy. More importantly, the platform was established to support budding entrepreneurs with logistics support for their businesses, and to ensure that these SMEs are first in line for special offers and business support from Red Star Express Plc. Since then, the platform has garnered over 200 SMEs who currently enjoy the aforementioned benefits.
