Data literacy, culture critical for any forward looking organization, says QLIK

Simplex Business Solutions, as part of the drive to ensure that organisations in Nigeria embrace, acquire, cultivate and utilize skills within data literacy hosted QLIK SENSE Tour 2018 at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos on Friday, June, 29th 2018.

The event focused on Qlik Sense “one of the most powerful, intuitive and user-friendly business intelligence tools in the market” and brought together business leaders and BI professionals from different organisations like Stanbic IBTC, Flourmills of Nigeria, KPMG, Meristem Wealth, Zenith Pension etc.

In his opening remarks, the Qlik Regional Manager Africa, Rhyno Jourbert emphasized that Data literacy and culture is critical for any forward looking organization.

He added that Qlik Sense offers all of the benefits of a self-service tool, such as flexibility and ease of use, without compromising on security.

He stressed the fact that with Qlik Sense, users can create their own dashboards which draw on secure libraries and governed data with no limits on the number of data sources or data volumes and it is perfect for both small and large enterprises.

Giving his remarks also for the event, Mr. Femi Adeniyi, the CEO of Simplex Business Solutions said he is more convinced that Business intelligence amongst other technological forces will continue to shape the future of work and workplace in Africa especially as analytics continues its steady growth and data visibility becomes clearer.

He further stressed that as Simplex Business Solutions continues to champion the data literacy move with Qlik Sense, his team would further be resolute in their commitment to sensitize and encourage the use of Business intelligence tools in Nigeria and beyond.

Mr. Olokunde Olanrewaju, Marketing and Communications Team Lead at Simplex harped on the need for organisations to embrace Business intelligence capabilities for growth.

He stressed that as users, from business analysts to executives and decision makers embraces this technology, it would help them identify trends and market conditions while they make informed business decision.

During the event, delegates and participants were able to try out first-hand the new features of QlikSense which include Insight Advisor – which uses AI to derive charts, KPI’s and dashboard to be used quickly; Alternate Suggestions – which provides different chart types and variations to existing charts; Advanced Authoring – make changes to existing dashboards and apps; Map: New Line Layer – Add multiple layers and KPI’s on maps for drill down capabilities plus many more.
