TOSSE 2018 Experience: Celebrating 10 Years of Driving Innovation in Education

Total School Support Seminar/ Exhibition (TOSSE) has stayed committed to its vision of value to the education sector in Nigeria, and by extension, Africa.

The 10th edition of TOSSE which took place on the 7th and 8th of June, recorded thousands of educators, exhibitors, parents and school children on both days.

There were participants from 24 states in Nigeria and 6 other countries, including Finland, South Africa, China, India and United Kingdom.

“We have truly come a long way and we are grateful for the huge support of players in the sector. We also know that this support and trust demands that we live up to and above expectations. This is why we up the ante after every edition, making sure that each edition is better than the last”, Yinka Ogunde, the convener said.

TOSSE 2018 featured 18 free seminars on vital education issues for teachers, school leaders and parents .

The topics covered issues in early years education, multiple intelligences and differentiation, STEM, education administration, teaching with joy, leading school staff successfully through vision, expanding the school’s capacity for growth, managing parent relations, school marketing, and many others issues.

There was also a session on leadership powered by certified John Maxwell trainers in Nigeria, including Bisi Soji-Oyawoye and Yinka Ogunde .

The sessions were taught by seasoned professionals such as Yoyin Adesina, CEO of Corona Schools; Nike Adegoke, Early Years Expert; Ifueko Thomas, Director of BrookeHouse Learning Centre, Rhoda Odigbo, Co-founder of Learning Craft; Charity Tony-Uba of Oxbridge College; Dr Abimbola Ogundere, Director of Kid’s Court Schools; Funmi Tella, Funke Fowler Amba, Director of Vivian Fowler Memorial College, Joachim Atunwa, Babatunde Kolade, Tola Salau (STEM Expert and founder of Carisma4U), and many other speakers.

An official sponsor of TOSSE 2018, Sterling Bank took students and visitors at the event the basics of personal finance, especially the habit of saving.

Parents and students had the opportunity to meet with representative’s schools such as Chrisland Schools, Kith and Kin, Grange School, Blooming Greens School, The Bells comprehensive Secondary School, Olashore International School and many more.

The 10th edition of TOSSE left many looking forward to the next edition, wondering how the bar could be further raised.

Yinka Ogunde however told media reporters that TOSSE 2019 will be on a completely different scale and model.

She said “This time, it will be the highlight conference for educators in Africa. We have run TOSSE a certain way for 10 years, the 11th edition will be phenomenal. We are upgrading on all grounds and we will make sure that TOSSE 2019 will be able to compete favourably with top education conferences in the world. It will prominently be a knowledge hub and amazing professional insight and opportunities will open up”.
