Social Media Parliament: The Masked man’s wrist band

By Joel Nwokeoma

I have seen a lot of people make some insinuations against the Redeemed Christian Church of God because of the wrist band worn by one of the DSS masked men who invaded the National Assembly yesterday.
It’s all what it is: mischief and storm in a tea cup.

Not every wearer of the wrist band is a member of the RCCG (Redeemed Christian Church of God) and NOT every member wears it. Until last Sunday, when my Area Pastor Jeff Aganbi, a very close ally and friend, gifted me one in the church, I never wore or ever bought any yet I’m a ranking member of the church.

I nearly rejected his gesture though but on a nanosecond I thought that could be just disrespecting to do, so I gladly took it and wore it during service.

Posts on social media on Tuesday tends to suggest that the DSS official is a member of RCCG hence he shouldn’t have be part of the supposed siege on national Assembly. What is your view?

But I was uncomfortable all through as I was not used to wearing such things. So I removed it when I got home and can’t even remember where I kept it till now.

So let’s stop linking the church and its leaders to the masked man on a clearly tragic task. He was just carrying out orders from his Oga at the top as a man under authority his adornment notwithstanding.

Adeboye or AgP @ProfYemiOsinbajo no send am o. Some criminals adorn top @Premiership clubs shirts, abi na dem send them too?
