OSHAssociation UK Nigeria region celebrates with PTI

OSHAssociation UK Nigeria Region celebrated with Petroluem Training Institute (PTI), Warri during their Health, Safety, Security and Environment Week 2018 held at Warri recently.

The event was attended by students from various departments and professionals in the OSH sector.

Looking at the strategic role of occupational safety and health skills and knowledge in the oil and gas sector, as a major preventive instrument in ensuring safety of human lives and assets in such a critical environment.

The Principal/ Chief Executive of Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) welcomed  the Regional President of the Association Dr. Dalhatu Mohammed, and other top Executives from other safety bodies who honoured the invitation. The principal/CE expressed his gratitude and joy to the stakeholders during a courtesy visit in his office with the HSSE Committee Members of PTI, chaired by Dr. Agaja Silas.

Prof. Sunny Iyuke, the Principal/ Chief Executive of Petroleum  Training Institute (PTI) assured the stakeholders  that the Institute is putting every measure to ensure quality safety education is achieved which will in turn build proactive culture on occupational safety and health of their students when they graduate from the school, “I want to see safety practiced the same way it is done in developed countries”, the Chief Executive of PTI said.

OSHAssociation Nigeria Region  President, Dr. Dalhatu Mohammad during his goodwill message appreciated the vibrate active Professor, Sunny I. the Chief Executive of the  Institute for his hardwork and commitment in developing PTI to an international level.

He assured the PTI management that OSHAssociation is ready to contribute to the development of the Institutes’ Health and Safety Culture and providing necessary support to enhance the students safety skills and knowledge.

Dr. Reginald Anyanwu, a distingushed Fellow of the Association made an inspiring presentation on Workplace Ergonomics, which was an eye opener to participants and is geared at ensuring Periodic Health Assessment all the time, followed by other presentations.
