NAGAFF Affairs: Fred Ajuzie denies calling President incompetent

The former Chairman, National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) Apapa Chapter, Mr. Fred Ajuzie has denied media report (GrassRoots.ng not included) that quoted him calling the national president,Chief Increase Uche as incompetent and unfit to run the affairs of the Association.

In a statement available to GRASSROOTS.NG, Ajuzie said the report was a complete misrepresentation of what he said during a chat with some members of the fourth estate of the realm.

Hear him, “My attention has been drawn to a news report with the above caption in an online publication of Monday August 20, 2018 by Roland Ekana,  in which I was quoted as using some words which portrayed a most erudite Maritime scholar, Chief Increase Uche, the most respected National Presiident of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders NAGAFF as being “incompetent to lead the Association”.

“I wish to use this medium to say emphatically that there was never a time I used such words to describe the eminently qualified National President of NAGAFF. The report was a complete misrepresentation of what I said at the media chat with some members of the fourth estate of the realm.   As a matter of fact, I Fred AJUZIE as a former Chairman of NAGAFF in Apapa for eight years, and knowing the process through which the umbrella body of Freight Forwarders in Nigeria produces its leadership, could never have
turned round to cast aspersions on the National President of such an Association.

“To go down memory lane,   I could not have demeaned the seat of the National President, earlier occupied by the Icon of the Industry, Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam and great players like Late Usman Sanusi,
Chief Eugene Nweke and Late Oluwole Adeyemi.  Chief Increase Uche, being a product of the school which produced the men mentioned above could not have fallen short in all areas which qualify him to occupy the exalted position.

“I therefore wish to use this medium to inform the general public to disregard any report which implied that I questioned the competence of Chief Increase Uche to lead our great Association. In reality it is apparent that I was quoted out of context in this circumstance.

“Finally, I wish to use this medium to apologize to the Founder of NAGAFF, Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam, the BOT, the NEC and the entire NAGAFF family for any embarrassment the report (which was a misrepresentation of what I said at the media chat) might have caused them”.
