IMSU to host Hult Prize; dubbed world’s largest students’ competition

On December 12, 2018, Imo State University, Owerri will play host to the world’s largest students’ competition – the HULT PRIZE.

Otherwise known by many especially the media in the world over as the “Nobel Prize for Students” and named as one of the top five ideas changing the world by TIME Magazine, it now comes to the star – campus for the first time.

For ten years now, the Hult Prize ‘On Campus events’ by the Hult Prize Foundation Boston | San Francisco | London | Dubai | Shanghai and the United Nations bring together the brightest College and University students from all over the world to focus on solving one of the world’s key social challenges through idea creation and pitching, to launch compelling startup enterprises, and awards USD 1 Million in seed funding capital to the winning team.

This is open to be it BSc, MSc and PhD students.

Meanwhile, if a student is selected a Campus Director by the Hult Prize Foundation, his/her institution becomes an OnCampus event center.

Hence, the IMSU event called the #Hultprizeatimsu according to the Campus Director – Uchegbulam Abel Onyekachi; a 300 Level Computer Science student of the University who is also a Finalist at the World Youth Essay Competition in Berlin, Germany is poised to leave no stone unturned to stage a real ‘brainstorming’ event.

As the President, Bill Clinton announces the challenge’s theme come September 15, 2018, who amongst the Imo stars will take on the strides and climb on the ladder of success made available by this global platform?

Who will join the likes of Abel and other Hult Prize entrepreneurs to launch more Hult Prize/United Nations’ social good to tackle grave issues facing humanity?

“#Hultprizeatimsu is looking for the top 3 ideas or teams to award from the intra – campus event while the brightest team will automatically advance to compete in one of the fifteen regional finals happening around the world come next March.

“And from there, the winning team proceeds to a Summer Business Accelerator where they’ll receive mentorship and advise from the international business community to set up their new social businesses”, Onyekachi said.

With over 10 rockstar judges on the panel, 3 milestone breaking speakers on the pre – event workshops/sessions, volunteers and strategic partners, we will be leading a new wave of entrepreneurs to change the world.
