Wefix.com.ng, a Port Harcourt-based online home service provider has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Nigeria Association of Engineering Craftsmen (NAEC), a body promoted by COREN.
As part of the MoU, Wefix will hire certified existing service providers across the nation as they expand via the association members.
Also, NAEC will allow Wefix to train it’s member on customer service satisfaction and safety tips.
It will also allow Wefix to set framework for long-term association partnership and thereby strengthen the skilled labour pool required in the craftsmen industry.
“Our partnership with Wefix is a significant development towards strengthening the engineering craftsmen ecosystem in the service provider sector of the country. The partnership will offer a platform to the youth to acquire practical skills of doing a job and will also address the need of the industry to have skilled individuals,” said Secretary of NAEC, Mr Godfrey.
“With a significant number of our youth suffering from skill deficits, the biggest problem is employability and not unemployment. Through this partnership we aim to create gainful employment opportunities for the youth in the engineering and craftsmen sector and build a reputable brand,” said the CEO of Wefix, Igwe Stanley Onyekachi.
Wefix was launched in July 2016 to provide an aggregation of services to customers. They perform a wide variety of services ranging from maintenance and home repairs to plumbing, electrical services, home cleaning and computer repairs.
It additionally offers specialised services in gardening, home decorating/ painting and are expanding their service portfolio. Soon introducing smart home solutions.
The company is operational in one city currently Portharcourt and has proccesed of over 400 service request.
