MASSOB dismisses Bianca Ojukwu’s senatorial ambition, says she lacks capacity

The leadership of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has called on Bianca Ojukwu, widow of the late Biafran warlord, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, to drop her senatorial ambition. The group claimed that every support and vote for her is a direct disrespect and disregard to late Ikemba.

MASSOB insisted that the presence of Bianca Ojukwu at the red chambers will not benefit the Igbo in any way but will rather draw more vicious insults, political attack and mesmerisation from Hausa Fulani senators who have no regard for late Dim Ojukwu.

A statement by MASSOB leader, Uchenna Madu, reads in part: “Political representation of Ndigbo is not about compensation, personal likeness or favour. Iyom Bianca Ojukwu can never be compensated with Igbo presentation in Abuja because of Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.

“Bianca Ojukwu is not Eze Igbo Gburugburu whose eloquent, radical and selfless Igbo interest has no boundary.

You can’t equate Bianca with Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. Igbo political representation is for Igbo men or women with eloquence, radical, fearless with Igbotic tendencies.

“The current state of Ndigbo in Nigeria which has gradually & systematically degraded and substituted Ndigbo to second-class citizens and inferior tribe needs a vibrant, radical, people oriented and Igbo fighters to revive and re-establish our true political nature.

“Ndigbo does not need to add more sleeping, fearful, cowardice and Judaistic politicians as National Legislative representatives in Abuja from 2019.”

MASSOB stressed that what the Igbo need was practical and proactive, experienced men and women in major sectors of Igbo lives including economy, agriculture, technology, trade and Youths/Human Development to represent the zone in the governance of the country.

The group urged the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ward delegates from Anambra South Senatorial zone not to be deceived or coarsed by any individual or higher authorities in supporting or voting for Iyom Bianca Ojukwu in the coming APGA primary elections.

MASSOB maintained that by virtue of being the wife of Eze Igbo Gburugburu, the widow of late Ikemba is like the Queen mother of Igbo land whose integrity, loyalty and respect should not be undermined or mesmerized by her selfish political ambitions.

It urged the state government and APGA leadership to caution Ikemba’s widow to respect and revere the name and person of Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and also stop her political romance with enemies of Ndigbo

The statement added, “For the sake of high respect and regard Ndigbo have for late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu (Eze Igbo Gburugburu), his widow, Iyom Bianca should not engage in partisan politics.

“We in MASSOB loves and are loyal to the wife of Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. She is a representative of Ndigbo in every affair of our life. She can’t aspire to represent political interest of a section of Anambra state.”

While reminding ward delegates of Anambra South senatorial zone on the importance of upholding the true respect and loyalty of the late Biafran warlord, the group enjoined governors of south-east to rally all the necessary support to Ojukwu’s widow for up keeping of her children and herself, saying that such will make her not to feel abandoned by Ndigbo.

MASSOB further advised Ojukwu’s widow to concentrate on Ojukwu’s family values adding, “Bianca should stay away from politics in other to uphold Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu’s name and respect. Venturing into politics will make her partisan which will also divide the people’s respect and regard for Eze Igbo Gburugburu.

“Those advising or pushing her to aspire for political elective post are enemies of Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and Igbo land. Adding Bianca Ojukwu to the 15 Igbo senators in Abuja will never bring any positive or progressive change to Ndigbo.

“Bola Tinubu’s wife who is a senator representing Lagos state has never brought any progressive change to Lagos state and Yoruba nation in general rather her association with politicians in the red chamber of National Assembly have ridiculed and mesmerised Bola Tinubu’s eloquent respect and followership in Yoruba land.

“Bianca’s presence as a senator in the red chamber will directly attract vicious insults, political attack and mesmerisation from Hausa Fulani senators who have no regard for Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. They will insult her like Tinubu’s wife in the floor of the Senate.”
