Ganduje: the archaic chief security officer of Kano State

By Adedemola Adetayo

On the Governor Ganduje’s issue i sincerely believe for us as People it is a Time to THINK. This matter calls for the deepest reflections because, Head or Tail, it spells a collectuve doom for us in Nigeria!

We play too much with serious matters, we trivialise issues by making them start and end in Politics.

The main gist of the video, fake or real, is that a SITTING STATE GOVERNOR, an adult, a man who superitends over millions of people in a very important state like Kano – any state infact – is said or portrayed to have been caught on camera NOT ONLY Personally collecting bribe monies in foreign currencies but generally conducting himself in a way worse than that of a petty thief or tout.

  1. Although i have heard in many discussions that technology can do anything, including producing such a video, i find it totally hard to imagine how such will be done. If indeed it was possible and such a fake video is produced to sting a sitting Governor, then we should be very worried about the length people can go in their WICKED MACHINATIONS.

We can then by extrapolating also imagine other things they can be capable of doing that may directly undermine our security and wellbeing.

  1. IF the video turns out to be true, which is infact more probable, then the matter becomes even more serious add frightening. The CORRUPTION angle of it will be amongst my least of worries. It will first mean that we have a GOVERNOR, A CHIEF SECURITY OFFICER, in a State as quickly volatile as KANO who is so unaware, so security unconscious, so naive, so amateur, so vain, SO STUPID, with all the resources that must be at his disposal, that he couldn’t even exercise or perfect elementary precautions of executing such simple task as  collecting a bribe without being caught let alone filmed???

IF No. 2 is correct, shouldn’t the people of Kano feel very unsafe in the incompetent hands of such an ARCHAIC  CHIEF  SECURITY Officer of the state?

This incidence reminds me of the reported 1997 Coup. According to all the reports rendered, GENERAL Diya actually sat in  coup planning sessions, set-up or phantom or whatever,  where a WIRED General Bamaiye was able to take recordings of the sessions. If Army Generals can be  so effortlessly bugged by their friends, how can we feel safe under their watch?

The other day we read same reports of the sacked D-G SSS being bugged. How can such a person be so careless and he is in charge of PROTECTING US?

The other time Farouk Lawan was investigation OIL BARONS..He actually AND VERY STUPIDLY went to Femi Otedola, ON OTEDOLA’S TURF, on OTEDOLA’S TERMS, without any common sense and was seen stuffing Dollars all over his body like an imbecile. And such a man was to be trusted with investigating the Mafia??? How?

I think this Ganduje video is true. I  condemn the clearly depicted act of corruption in display BUT, i am far more worried about the reality that most of these our so-called Leaders are full of vanities, greed and very foolish!!!

Nigerians should rightly demand PROBE of that incident with lightning urgency!
