Jumia Food, an online food delivery platform on Wednesday announced that it had adopted whatsapp chat to further make placement of orders easy for it customers.
The Managing of Director Jumia Food, Guy Futi, made this known during a press conference organised to discuss partnership with other companies in Lagos.
He said that their company was trying to improve customers experience by eliminating issues associated with no network, hence the need for social media platforms to give clients other options to order food.
He said that the Whatsapp line would give customers the opportunity to chat and place their orders directly.
Futi said this would also eliminate the amount of data it takes to send messages.
He also noted that they were adding other languages apart from English to their app so that those who do not understand English can click on the preferred language to other food.
Futi added that Jumia Food was also discussing with their vendors to get cheaper options in terms of food for their customers.
Also speaking, the Head of Marketing and Vendor Success, Jumia Food and Party, Chioma Odumegwu, said that the company was working towards getting variety of affordable options for customers by partnering with more restaurants.
Odumegwu said that Jumia was partnering with restaurant that open 24 hours, hence this would give customers the opportunity to order food conveniently till 12:00 midnight.
“Before now customers could only order food till 10:00 pm but now it has been extended till midnight,” she said.
Odumegwu also said that payment options have been made easy for customers, they could either pay online or pay at the point of delivery using POS.
She added that Jumia Food different foods ranging from Chinese, Italian, Thai, Continental, and Nigerian dishes.
Odumegwu said that no matter how far away, the restaurant was from your home or office, one could now conveniently order meals without delay.
