National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has warned the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) “and the cabals not to kill President Muhammadu Buhari with undue pressure.”

Prince Secondus said that “for selfish reasons these power grabbers are putting undue pressure on the President even as it’s evident that he can no longer cope.”

The PDP National Chairman spoke while inaugurating 27 presidential election campaign committees at the party’s Campaign Office in Abuja on Friday.

He said that from what Nigerians and the international community are witnessing around the President lately, it is apparent that he is tired and incapable but they would not let him quit.

“There is no way this President can cope given what we are witnessing and added to the incompetence in leadership Nigerians have been seeing in the last three years,” Secondus said.

According to a statement from his media office signed by Ike Abonyi, Prince Secondus  warned that Nigerians are not ready to take anything less than free, fair and credible election.

“Our fear is that the INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, lacks the will and courage to ignore the pressure from the APC to conduct free and transparent election. But he should know that he would be held responsible for any fall out from a rigged election,” Secondus said.

While congratulating the newly appointed Acting Inspector General of Police Adamu Abubakar, Secondus reiterated his earlier call on him to clear the mess left behind by his predecessor and run the Police Force professionally and responsibly.

He also explained why the party would continue to protest the membership of Amina Zakari as a National Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

“We called for her resignation from the commission but instead they appointed her as the Chief collation officer, we must continue to oppose her because she is a master rigger, we have evidence of what she did in Ekiti and Osun states,” Secondus said.

He announced to the steering committee members that the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, is presently in the United States of America, where he is expected to meet with top American politicians and government officials.

“The visit has now doused the blackmail on our presidential candidate,” Secondus said, stressing that Atiku Presidency would restore the image of the country.

The PDP National Chairman told the committee members that the reward system of the party has changed and now gives prime attention to electoral performance at the grassroots.

He urged them to strive for more sacrifice for the party as their contributions would not go unrewarded but all hands must be on deck to chase away APC in our political life.
