Galaxy Backbone MD wins BusinessDay Excellence in Public Service Award

Galaxy Backbone’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Yusuf Kazaure was recently recognized for his contribution to ICT development in the country especially in the Public service by the Business Day Excellence in public service awards committee.

During the presentation of this award to Mr. Kazaure, it was noted that under his leadership of Galaxy Backbone, the organisation has grown in terms of its infrastructure expansion and reach and its improvement in its services, especially in the implementation of its shared services model to organisations within the nation’s public sector.

In his recognition, BusinessDay noted that Mr. Kazaure is being honoured with this award because of his ‘commitment brought into the management and execution of the mandate of Galaxy Backbone, including being the ‘provider of shared ICT infrastructure, applications and services to all federal Government MDAs and institutions.’

Galaxy Backbone (GBB) has built a single nationwide IP broadband network to provide network services to all federal government institutions. It has also provided and is deploying and maintaining a national database management system, while providing a common services platform for institutions of government to communicate amongst one another, and improve communication and service delivery between government and its citizens.

Yusuf Kazaure has continued to stir the ship of GBB to new heights and continues to lead initiatives within the organisation and across government agencies that are yielding impactful results.

With this Excellence in Public service awards, he is recognized as one of the top public servants contributing towards national developments through the implementation of impactful technologies that is transforming the nation.

He played a key role in the approved e-government government master plan that will lead to the digital transformation of the country.
