The somewhat turbulent journey of the All Progressives Congress in Enugu State in picking its candidate for this year’s governorship elections has come to an end in a positive note for the pioneer candidate of the party in the state, Barrister George Ogara Tabugbo (GOT).
A statement signed by Ejiofor Agada, for GOT 2019 Campaign Organization reads:
“In a landmark judgment delivered today (Tuesday) the 5th of February 2019 in an Abuja Federal High Court, a reassuring focus has been granted to the yearnings of our numerous supporters that are desperate for a change in the political landscape of Enugu State.
“Consequent upon this reality, the Campaign Organization of Barrister George Ogara Tabugbo wishes to use this avenue to enjoin the cooperation of all APC members and sympathizers in our state, and continue to support the party as we await victory at the polls.
“As GOT has promised that ‘No member would be left behind’ in his quest to carry everybody in the party along, we urge our members on the ‘other divide’ to join their brothers in a united APC in Enugu state and collectively work for victory. A victory for the masses; a victory for the downtrodden; a victory for the forgotten; and a worthy victory that’ll ensure our mandate is actualized.
“The GOT 2019 mandate is the liberation of our state from stagnant politicians without vision that has held us down for such a long time, and as such the support and encouragement of the good people of Enugu State is not negotiable. As we move towards unveiling our plans and activities leading up to the inauguration of our campaign structure across the 17 local government areas of the state, it is imperative that we all observe decorum and peaceful politicking in Enugu State.
“GOT is the candidate for the grassroots and as such, he’s only accountable to the majority that has never been heard from in our State. “The in-coming government of George Ogara Tabugbo and Mrs. Ginika Tor, will ensure that the near zero development in Enugu state is reversed so that we can catch up with the developmental strides of other states in our country”.
