Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s support group has denied that the Governor approved or was part of the banners sighted in some areas in the State which claim that he is supporting the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a post via ‘Oganiru Enugu State’, the Group, said that it was the handiwork of the opposition who wanted to cause confusion and disaffection among the people, that led to the erection of the banners.
The statement
reads: “Finally, the answer to the many questions that have been preying on the
minds of millions of electorates in Enugu State has arrived. Why are
the opposition so vulnerable to divisive political tactics? Why did
they get dragged into such an unwise tactics? These questions hold the
forthcoming Presidential and Governorship elections in the balance. Ultimately,
they are questions on the Electorates’ mind. Here are the answers:
“Just few days to the Presidential and Governorship elections, the opposition
parties and their political jobber-men are out to confuse the masses who are
warming up to vote en mass for the Peoples Democratic Party.
“Like you can see in the picture, they think that my appending His Excellency, RT. Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s picture to their so called ‘Victory Road Show for the Re-Election of Mr. President’; by that the good people of Enugu State would swing their votes to their side. Never! Lies! They have failed.
“His Excellency, truly, does not believe in political bickering but that does not in any way negate the fact that he is 100% PDP and have been going about campaigning for the party and the candidates from Presidential to House of Assembly level”.
The group urged voters to ignore the banners and vote massively for the PDP in the Presidential and Governorship and Federal and State Assemblies elections.
“Please, ignore this myopic works of detractors and failed opposition in the State who were stunned by the wide acceptance of His Excellency by the people of Enugu State. They are seeking for means to be relevant or at most, confuse the people to believing that His Excellency sent them on this errand. This no truth among them
“Come February 16 and March 2, Ndi Enugu shall troop out en mass to vote massively for PDP. Victory is ours”.
