House of Maramuna, an initiative that has performed exceptionally well in educating the general public on the dangers of skin bleaching, recently hosted the season 1 of its Teens Bubble in Onitsha, Anambra State.
On 1st of March, 2019, the house kick-started a school event titled ‘Teens Bubbles” where secondary school teenagers come together to make speech presentations on skin bleaching.
The aim of this event is to serve as a platform for children to learn the impending dangers of bleaching their skin when they become adults so as to help reduce the statistics having Nigerians as the highest users of skin bleaching products.
In this premiere season of Teens Bubbles, 9 secondary schools from the axis of 3-3 Onitsha were in attendance and 3 representatives from each school made a speech on skin bleaching.
After the presentations, Ogbuli Faith Chinezulum from Beth-Roots Model School 3-3 Onitsha emerged as the winner with a cash Prize of N20,000. There were other consolation prizes to the first and second runner up.
Wazobiafm Onitsha was also in attendance of the event where “Akpos” one of Wazobia staff educated the Teenagers on the dangersnof skin bleaching.
The event ended with a closing remarks by the Founder, Amarachi Okpala sensitizing the students on the need to develop a good body confidence so that they can be able to withstand the societal and media pressure that leads people to skin bleaching.
