The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has bemoaned alleged slow pace with which the Presidential Electoral Tribunal is going about the duties.
For instance, the Party said that 80 days has gone already as the Tribunal is left with only 100 days to examine 400 witnesses the party has lined up and other activities of the Tribunal.
The party is also not happy that the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, has not nominated a judge to replace her on the Tribunal since stepping down due to her affinity to some member of APC.
The Party wrote on Wednesday, “Atiku Abubakar’s Petition at the tribunal is 79 (80) days old today. Only 101 (100) days remaining for final judgment according to section 285(6) and (7) of the 1999 Constitution and section 134(2) and (3) of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended).
“And Today (Wednesday), is day 13 (14) since Madam Zainab Bulkachuwa recused herself from the tribunal panel. She’s yet to announce a replacement or appoint a new head of the panel thereby delaying the commencement of the case in earnest.
“Appeal Court under the leadership of Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa should do the needful and announce a replacement and a new head of the panel. Enough of the game.
