Harry Maguire has brought a coolness that was lacking in the Manchester United defense, according to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Maguire, 26, was named man of the match on his debut in the 4-0 drubbing of Chelsea, having completed an £80million transfer from Leicester at the start of last week.
Solskjaer settled on England international Maguire as his preferred defensive target after United won at Leicester in February and has already been impressed by his impact less than two weeks into his United career.
“He’s very level-headed,” Solskjaer said. “He’s just as composed off the pitch as he is on the pitch. He’s experienced, a big presence around the place, he’s smiling, a personality you like to have around and to have a cool head at the back is important, defenders that are level-headed and not emotionally affected is great to have for a manager and a team.
