Dynamics Intelligence, a Canadian-based technological firm, says its plans to exit the Nigerian market over alleged fraudulent practices by employees and contractors working for the firm.
Jenna Bourgeois, chairman of the company, confirmed the exit via his LinkedIn account on Thursday. Bourgeois lamented the distrustful conduct of its Nigerian employees whom he accused of extortion.
He said over time, the company has been faced with several cases where Nigerian employees and contractors extort money and monies worth from the company.
“Effective immediately, we will be closing our operations in Nigeria. Over the last year, we have faced numerous examples of employees and contractors extorting the company,” Bourgeois said on his LinkedIn account.
He noted that the firm on several occasions have given Nigerians a chance to gain skills and employment. However, he disclosed that it cannot continue to run a company when it can’t trust the people it works with.
Dynamics Intelligence is a Canadian technology solutions company that partners with Microsoft and Amazon to create custom cloud-based productivity software.
The announcement by the firm follows the news of a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) crack-down on massive internet fraud. The fraud, involving many Nigerians, has reportedly cost the United States an estimated $3 billion between 2015 till date.

In 2019 alone, the country has so far lost about $1.1 billion to cybercrime. The FBI disclosed this in a 145 pages document released on Friday.

The chairman of Dynamics Intelligence in his message noted that the company is well disappointed given the fact that it has spent much time in trying to give Nigerians the benefit of the doubt only for the company to still have this happen.
He advised other organisations interested in outsourcing operations in Nigeria to seek Indian-owned companies.
“Any company interested in conducting business in Nigeria can reach out to us to learn how to avoid being scammed by technical resources,” he said.
“Furthermore, customers who wish to outsource, are well-advised to seek an Indian-owned company for the best results.”
