1Dokita Healthcare Limited, a health services gateway that leverages the potential of tech-enabled solutions to make healthcare more accessible to Nigerians, has announced the signing of Anita Ukah as Brand Ambassador.

Miss Imo, Anita Ukah, a Nigerian model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 2018, is out to join hands with 1Dokita to reach more members of the society.

She beat 36 other contestants at the contest held in 2018 at Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre, Bayelsa State. Anita fought off competitions from Miss Lagos, Miss Edo, Miss Kwara, Miss Sokoto, Miss Ogun and other contestants to become the most beautiful girl in Nigeria.

Graduate of Medical and Laboratory Sciences, 24-year-old Anita Ukah has a passion for ‘street kids’, which aligns with 1Dokita’s mission “to create an easy way for all of us to access good quality healthcare”.

Speaking shortly after she was unveiled, Anita thanked the management of 1Dokita for giving her the opportunity to touch lives using the platform.

She described the Brand Ambassadorship as a means to “be able to reach out to more people; touching more lives. With the platform I’ve been given, I have the ability to reach out to millions and I intend to do just that.”

On their part, the Founder/CEO of 1Dokita Healthcare Limited, Dr. Daniel Folukoya, said that the choice of working with Anita Ukah was based on her professional background and passion to assist Nigerians have access to good healthcare.

He maintained that 1Dokita has a vision to improve health-seeking behaviour by making it easier for people to get health advice prophylactically or early on in the disease process before the cost of treatment becomes unbearable.

“We believe that Anita will bring her professional prowess and the personality to bear, particularly to assist in making Nigerians to understand the importance of maintaining our health,” Dr. Folukoya said.

He said that this was part of the synergies they need to widen access to healthcare for the underserved and will continue to spend significant resources on education, coaching and counselling of communities.

“We believe that by providing a unified health services gateway, healthcare can be more safely, reliably and affordably accessed. This will translate to more lives saved, more evidence-based practice and consequently, a reduction in quackery and self-medication.
