The continuation of trial of the former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, over an alleged N6.9 billion fraud was stalled on Thursday.
This followed the absence of the trial judge, Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke of the Federal High Court, Lagos, who reportedly was absent for a conference.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is prosecuting Fayose and his ex-aide, Abiodun Agbele.
It said Agbele assisted Fayose in carting away part of the N6.9 billion the governor is said to have laundered while serving as governor between 2014 and 2018.
The former governor was initially arraigned on October 22, 2018 alongside his company, Spotless Investment Ltd, before Justice Mojisola Olatotegun on an 11-count charge.
After he pleaded not guilty to the charges, he was granted bail on October 24, 2018 in the sum of N50 million with two sureties in like sum.
However, the EFCC later withdrew the case from Justice Olatoregun and then re-arraigned Fayose before Justice Aneke on July 2.
The former governor again pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against him and was allowed to enjoy the bail earlier granted him.
The mater was subsequently adjourned till November 28 for trial.
