Okowa is the authentic winner of Delta governorship election – Supreme Court

The election of Delta state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been affirmed by the Supreme Court on Wednesday, January 8.

The apex court in an unanimous judgement delivered by Justice Centus Nweze, said that the appellant, Great Ogboru failed to prove allegations of over-voting.

According to the judge, the appeal by the APC candidate is a waste of the precious time of the apex court.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the election of Darius Ishaku as the governor of Tarab state was affirmed by the supreme court.

In a unanimous judgement delivered by Justice Ejembi Ekwo, the court held that the counsel to the APC admitted that the party had no candidate in the election and therefore has no locus standi to contest the election of the governor.
