Despite Buhari’s Approval, There is Still No NYSC Mobilization For NOUN Students

The students of the National Open University of Nigeria have expressed sadness after the university’s Registrar, Felix Edoha debunked rumors that the recent graduates would be mobilized for NYSC.

Before now, President Buhari had approved that NOUN students be mobilized for NYSC in 2018. All hopes were high after the news broke. However, since then, nothing tangible has happened as the worries of the students heighten.

The dream of most NOUN student is for them to partake in NYSC mobilization just like other students from conventional universities. That dream still remains a dream and is yet to come through following the announcement.

The statement by the Registrar reads: ”This to notify the noun study centre directors, students and all graduands of the National Open University of Nigeria concerning the news making rounds on various social media platforms that NOUN graduands will be mobilized for NYSC Batch “A” is FALSE

The said NYSC information claims that graduands of 2020 convocation should present their details to get mobilized.

Consequently, all study centre directors, National Open University students, and 2020 NOUN graduands are hereby informed to disregard such information in its entirety.

Kindly note that the process of NOUN NYSC Exclusion certificates collection is on and all concerned students will be informed officially through the University study centres, NOUN official website – Nou.edu.ng and other approved channels.

The study centre directors are requested to give this NOUN NYSC disclaimer notice a very urgent and wide publicity.”
