LASG Charges Drivers To Adhere Strictly To New Traffic Guidelines

The Lagos State Government has warned drivers in the State to comply with the new traffic guidelines and diversions that have been introduced by the government due to the on-going rehabilitation of the Third Mainland Bridge.

In an interview monitored by by Grassroots.ng on Lagos 107.5fm, the General Manager, Lagos State Drivers’ Institute (LASDRI), Mrs. Afusat Tiamiyu, noted that in view of the partial closure of the Third Mainland Bridge, roadblocks had been mounted to divert vehicles to alternative routes that will lead them to their various destinations.

While disclosing that additional lane markings and road signs have also been put in place, she enjoined all road users to ensure they understand and obey all the traffic signs while on the roads.

She said, “Any untoward attitude you display on the road while driving will reflect negatively on us at LASDRI. Therefore, I am appealing that you be at your best behaviour, especially during this period of the global pandemic and the ongoing rehabilitation of the Third Mainland Bridge”.

The General Manager expressed her appreciation to all the Enforcement, Traffic and Safety Officers working tirelessly to ease the traffic gridlock on the roads, reiterating the need for all drivers to visit the training institute for their yearly retraining and recertification programmes.

Tiamiyu also advised all road users to continue to comply with all COVID-19 safety protocols as part of efforts to curb the spread of the virus.
