Movement Of Cattle From North To South Should Be Banned – Governor Ganduje

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje said banning the movement of cattle from North to South is the only lasting solution to solving the problem of Fulani herdsmen with farmers across the country.

Speaking to journalists after a special lunch with President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State, Governor Ganduje argued that the law will also address the issue of cattle rustling in the northern part of the country.

“My advocacy is that we should abolish the transportation or trekking of herdsmen from the Northern part of Nigeria to the Middle Belt and to the Southern part of Nigeria.

“There should be a law that will ban, otherwise we cannot control the conflicts between herdsmen and farmers and cannot control the cattle rustling which is affecting us greatly,” the governor said.
