The first day of Igbo-Etiti PDP ward to ward campaign for the upcoming local government election was visibly exciting with the massive turnout of party members and supporters alike.
The campaign which is line with electoral laws and also serves as an avenue for the party get in touch with the grassroot was flagged of at the Ikolo central field for the Igbo-Etiti Central Development Centre.
In attendance for the event include the Chairman of the local government, Hon. Nkechi Ugwuoju, Vice-Chairman Hon. Ignatuis Ishienyi, members of the the Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. James Akadu and Rt. Hon. Ezenta Ezeani, the local government party Chairman Hon. Chukwuemeka Okoroeze, Enugu state Commissioner for Lands Nnanyelugo Chidi Aroh, past local government Chairmen including Hon. Ogbos Idike who is also the permanent secretary to the Ministry of Transport Hon. and his counterparts Hon. Malachy Agbo a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor and Hon. Engr. Festus Ozoemena Director for Works Enugu State College of Education Technical, amongst others.
Speaking at the event, the PDP local government Chairmanship flag bearer Hon. Ikenna Nwodo thanked the governor of Enugu state His Execellency Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for giving him the opportunity to serve.
He also thanked the people for the massive support which has been extended to him since his emergence. He promised to lead the council area progressively both in human and infrastructural development.
The high point of the event was the official unveiling of the party’s councilorship candidates from the respective wards and the presentation of gift items including bags of rice and refreshments.
