Mavin has excitedly unveiled another new artist for their amazing lineup of talents, Lifesize Teddy. Born and bred in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, Lifesize Teddy is bringing something different and refreshing with her brand of afro fusion music.
Her self-titled EP will soon be released as her debut on the Nigerian music scene.
Here are five things you should know about Mavin Records’ latest signee.
1. Young prodigy
She started writing music as early as the age of nine. She was rapping at the age of 12 after being influenced by Kanye West’s album ‘College Dropout’. Facing off against people more than twice her age in text battles on Facebook (and winning).
2. Got the best of both worlds
With a real name Banigo Apiafi Treasure, Lifesize Teddy grew up in her beautiful hometown of Bonny Island, Rivers State. Living in the cultural mix of Bonny Island and Port-Harcourt with the locals and foreigners has made LST a confluence of many cultural rivers.
3. Lifesize Teddy has a wide taste in music
Thanks to the inspiration she got from her mom’s taste in music, LST has a large varied appetite for good music. She listens to and is inspired by a myriad of genres from Brenda Fassie to Eva Alordiah.
4. Multitalented Artiste
5. She is not afraid to experiment
