Peter Obi Pays Last Respect To Late Chief Nwoye Who Died While Watching The Last AFCON Game In Cote D’ivoire

Peter Obi whilst mourning with the family of the Deceased who died during the Nigerian football AFCON game in Cote D’ivoire and was just buried, had this to say;

“Among my other engagements today, I was in Amanuke, Anambra State, where I joined other mourners to pay my last respects to a very patriotic Nigerian, Late Chief Osondu Nwoye, who died during the last AFCON games in Cote d’Ivoire, earlier this year. Chief Nwoye, was very passionate about the progress of our dear nation.

This was exemplified in his burning desire to see Nigeria’s team, the Super Eagles, emerge victorious in the AFCON games.

Sadly, we received the shocking news of his death apparently from the heated emotions of the game he loved so much. I sincerely commiserate with his family in particular and the Amanuke Community, in general.

Testimonies abound of his caring lifestyle from people whose lives he has positively touched. I particularly felt the pain of the young students from Community Secondary School, Amanuke, who are under his scholarship scheme.

What better way could one develop his community and empower his people, if not through giving them access to education? His death is a huge loss to the community, state and the nation.

May God Almighty grant him eternal rest and grant his family, the Amanuke Community, and all of us, the fortitude to bear his very sad irreplaceable loss.

May God bless his family, and all the children who were under his care.

May Mr Nwoye’s soul rest in peace. And we pray his family and dear ones be comforted.
