In a major push toward modernising governance, the Lagos State Government has launched a new Electronic Physical Planning Process System, a platform designed to digitise the state’s land administration and physical planning operations.

Announcing the development on Thursday, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said the system marks a significant step in improving efficiency, transparency, and service delivery across Lagos’ physical planning ecosystem.

According to the governor, the rapid growth of Lagos has made traditional, manual planning processes inadequate. The new digital system will ensure faster application processing, clearer documentation flow, and reduced opportunities for interference or manipulation. It will also generate better-quality data to guide long-term urban development decisions.

To support the rollout, the state has equipped planning officers with upgraded digital tools and training to enhance service responsiveness and accuracy.

Governor Sanwo-Olu noted that the initiative aligns with both the state’s THEMES+ Agenda and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope vision, which emphasizes the use of technology to build a more efficient public service.

He urged developers, professionals, and residents to fully embrace the platform, adding that the digital transformation of land administration is central to building “a safer, more organised, and more inclusive Lagos.”

The launch reinforces Lagos’ commitment to smart governance and positions the state as a leader in urban digital transformation across Africa.
