The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has congratulated Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 74th birthday, describing him as a transformative leader driving a new phase of national development.

Celebration of Leadership and Legacy

In a statement issued on Sunday, Yilwatda said the President’s birthday offers Nigerians an opportunity to reflect on his contributions to democracy and national development.

He described Tinubu as “a patriot, reformer, democrat and bridge-builder” whose political journey—from pro-democracy activism to his tenure as Governor of Lagos State and now President—has significantly shaped Nigeria’s growth.

Praise for Ongoing Reforms

The APC chairman commended the President for initiating bold reforms aimed at addressing longstanding structural challenges in the economy.

According to him, Tinubu assumed office at a critical time and has demonstrated courage by implementing policies designed to stabilise the economy, restore investor confidence, and promote sustainable growth.

“Rather than postpone difficult but necessary decisions, the President has shown statesmanship by initiating far-reaching reforms in the long-term interest of Nigerians,” Yilwatda stated.

Focus on Economy and Governance

Yilwatda noted that the administration is undertaking a broad recalibration of Nigeria’s economic and governance systems, including efforts to strengthen fiscal discipline, improve revenue generation, and expand infrastructure development.

He added that the government’s policies are also focused on enhancing social interventions, supporting vulnerable populations, and creating an enabling environment for businesses and innovation.

Commitment to National Development

The APC chairman highlighted the President’s commitment to improving livelihoods through investments in agriculture, industry, energy, education, and healthcare.

He said the administration’s emphasis on digital innovation, youth empowerment, and local production reflects a forward-looking governance strategy.

Call for Patience Amid Reforms

While acknowledging that reforms may bring short-term challenges, Yilwatda urged Nigerians to remain patient, expressing confidence that current policies will deliver long-term benefits.

“Meaningful reform often comes with temporary discomfort, but the sacrifices of today will yield a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria,” he said.

Conclusion

Yilwatda reaffirmed the APC’s support for Tinubu’s leadership, noting that the President continues to inspire confidence through his commitment to democratic ideals and national progress.

He also offered prayers for Tinubu’s continued strength, wisdom, and good health as he leads the country.
