NAPS presents award to IMT Rector, Prof. Nweze as Grand Patron


The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) has awarded the Rector of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, Prof. Augustine Uchechukwu Nweze, as the Grand Patron of Student Body.
The award presented by NAPS’ executive in his office on Friday 18th of January 2018, was in recognition of the Prof. Nweze’s contributions to the development and advancement of technical education in Nigeria.
National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) is the umbrella body of Nigerian students studying in Nigerian Polytechnics, Monotechnics, and Colleges of Technology in Nigeria and in Diaspora.
NAPS is the second largest student body in Nigeria.
Speaking to Grassroots.ng’s correspondent, the Rector expressed delight for the recognition, promising not to rest on his oars for an impactful development and advancement of technical education and in Nigeria.
As a one time lecturer, Head of Department (HOD) in Accounts Department of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), ICAN Chairman Enugu District and now a Rector, Prof. Nweze’s antecedents speaks volume, which could have informed the decision of NAPS to single him out for honours.
Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State appointed Professor Augustine Uchechukwu Nweze, as the new rector of the state-owned Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) on June 2016.
