The National Students Body under the auspice of NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF OKUN STUDENTS (NAOS) comprising of Yagba West, Yagba East, Mopamuro, Ijumu and Kabba-Bunu local government wish to call the attention of our political office holder who belong to this umbrella to the level of infrastructure decay in our Senatorial District.

During our visitation to some Public Schools in Ijumu, Kabba-Bunu, the level of decay is worrisome, most pupils were seen learning on the floor, most without JSS1 to JSS3, most of the primary schools ended at class four (4), we saw dilapidated buildings.

In another visit to some hospital within the district, the premises were as good as abandoned, the environment and infrastructure are in a state of comatose.

Furthermore, most access roads linking these communities have been cutoff and abandoned, Ikoyi to Egbeda-Egga and Aiyetoro to Egbe is nothing to write home about, talk less of the electricity in these community, all these decays could be seen clearly but our political office holders decided to turn their attentions to other directions pretending all is well.

Sir and Ma, this open letter is not a way of blackmailing you or the offices you hold but a call to declare emergency in these areas to improve the lives of citizens residing in these areas. As we are aware, 2019 general election are approaching. Governance should be give and take, if the citizens that you represent couldn’t benefits from the dividends of democracy for years you have occupied these offices, then don’t expect a return because “to whom much is given, much is expected” they say.

We use this medium to appeal to our Distinguish Senator, Members of House of Representatives representing these Constituencies, the State of Assembly Members, Commissioners, Chairman and other political office holders to swing into action and save our dear Okunland from total destruction.

We also appeal to all these political office holders to jettison their political differences, but love and unite together for the benefit and betterment of the upcoming generations. In the aspects of bursary, the state government have not been up and doing, we believe the time to correct these lapses is not too late.

At the entrance gate of a University in South Africa, the following message was pasted for contemplation “Destroying any nation does not require the use of atomic bombs or the use of long range missile, it only requires lowering the quality of education” please save the future of Okunland from total destruction through education.

Our hospitals should not longer look like mortuaries of shrines, please use your individual offices to bring our hospitals back to life, health they say, is wealth.

Furthermore, these bad roads has led to the untimely death of motorists, access roads needs to be repaired to improve the standard of living of the people, our roads should no longer serve as death traps.

We beseech you to make Okunland a place of pride, a better place for you and we and the future generations and have your names written on a platter of Gold.

Once again, as 2019 general elections approaches, we promise a showdown as none of you will be allowed to come back or re-elected of no visible changes are seen.

We hope our open letter receives a kind consideration from your quarters.

A call to fix our Road, Schools, Electricity, Hospital and other Social Infrastructures else no re-election in 2019 is not an empty threats.

Please do the needful too to save the Land

God bless NAOS
God bless OKUNLAND
God bless Kogi State.

Aluta Continua, Victoria Ascerta.

Enugu Accuses Sujimoto CEO of N5.7bn Fraud over smart school -

The Chief Executive Officer of Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited, Sijibomi Ogundele, is under intense interrogation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the alleged diversion of ₦5.7 billion paid by the Enugu State Government for an ₦11 billion contract.

Ogundele, who had earlier been declared wanted, turned himself in to EFCC Abuja headquarters and was grilled for more than 10 hours on Tuesday. His personal and company accounts have been frozen, and his passport seized to restrict his movement.

According to investigators, Ogundele convinced the state to release 50% of the contract sum—₦5.7 billion—after promising speedy delivery. However, state officials allege that work done so far is worth no more than ₦750 million, accusing him of abandoning the project.

The Enugu State Government’s petition triggered EFCC’s probe, which may see Ogundele spend more time in custody as investigations continue.

In a tearful online video, Ogundele denied any wrongdoing, framing the matter as a contractual dispute: “I’m not a thief, I’m not a fugitive. This is between my company and the Enugu State Government. It’s not criminality.”
