Buhari Blasts Oyegun, APC EXCO over tenure elongation

President Muhammadu Buhari, at National Executive Council NEC meeting, held on Tuesday, has declared as illegal and unconstitutional the tenure extension for national and state party executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Recall that Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi State announced the tenure elongagtion by one year, starting from June, to newsmen at the end of a NEC meeting last month, saying that the decision was taken in line with the party´s Constitution.
While reacting on the development when announced, the chairman, Oyegun explained that the decision was to give the party room to face the serious task ahead, especially the 2019 general elections.
