A detachment of policemen on Monday stormed the residence of Senator Dino Melaye in Abuja, according to reports reaching GrassRoots.ng

This followed the escape of Melaye from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, where he was earlier prevented from travelling out to Morocco by policemen and operatives of the Nigeria Immigration Service.

GrassRoots.ng gathered that the disappearance of Melaye from the airport in circumstances that could not be explained by security operatives, led to the storming of his residence by the policemen.

The representative of Kogi West Senatorial District resides at 11, Sangha Street, Maitama, Abuja.

Reports reaching GrassRoots.ng has it that following the escape of Melaye, checkpoints were mounted quickly on the roads to and fro the airport and adjoining ones.

The checkpoints had disappeared in a while now.
