Ekweremadu reacts to IGP Idris snubbing Senate invitation for third time


Senator Ike Ekweremadu, deputy senate president of Nigeria, has condemned the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, for failing to appear before the Senate as expected.
Idris, on Wednesday, snubbed the Senate for the third time.
This is the third time the IGP failed to appear before the Senate, after invitation was extended to him to brief the red chambers on the spate of killings across the states.
Reacting through his Twitter handle on Wednesday, Ekweremadu said the IGP was an enemy of democracy and not fit to hold any public office.
He wrote, “The refusal of the IGP to appear before an investigative Committee therefore the Senate resolves to declare the IGP as an enemy of democracy and not fit to hold any public office within and outside Nigeria.”
