Eight killed in Kaduna village attack


Some bandits struck at Kurega Village in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing eight persons.
Kurega Village bordered by Birnin-Gwari LG had come under heavy attacks from bandits.
An eyewitness said the bandits stormed the village, shooting at anybody at sight.
Mostly affected, he said, were hunters, saying that eight bodies were recovered from the bush.
One of those killed, he said, was the head of the vigilante group in the area, adding that the bandits also escaped with gun wounds.
The incident, the eyewitness said, took place between 2pm and 3pm, saying that those killed and injured had since been taken to a hospital at Udawa Village, also in Chikun LGA.
