Just in: Security officials take over National Assembly


Armed and masked officials of the Department of State Services have blocked access into the National Assembly complex.
The security operatives arrived at the complex as early as 6.00 am.
The armed men have prevented staff, legislators and journalists from entering the complex.
This is happening few hours before the leadership of the National Assembly begin an emergency meeting for Tuesday (today).
The Special Assistant to the Senate President on International Relations, Bankole Omisore, called the meeting via his Twitter handle on Monday.
The tweet reads, “NASS leadership will tomorrow meet at noon to consider some national issues. The National Assembly leadership comprises both @NGRSenate and @HouseNGR.
