Soldiers from the Guards Brigade Nigerian Army have barricaded all the entry and exit routes into the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), over the planned one million march by members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), in the nation’s capital.

The soldiers have also created snap check points in various parts of the FCT, to ensure the Shiite members do not have access into Abuja.

Daily Sun gathered that the soldiers are also conducting a condone and search operations on virtually all vehicles coming into Abuja from Abaji, Gwagwalada, Zuba, Bwari, Dutse, Keffi, Kuje, Mararaba among other entry routes.

Military sources told Daily Sun that the Shiite members are in their hundreds, and have so far been confined to the Suleja axis. The source who does not want to be mentioned in print, also said the soldiers along the police and other security agencies are on red alert to ensure the protection of innocent residents of the FCT.

The commander Guards Brigade, Brigadier General Musa, when contacted told Daily Sun that the brigade was on top of the situation and called on residents to cooperate with the army and the various security agencies to curb the menace of the group.
