Police blocking my residence – Dino Melaye alleges plot to arrest him


Dino Melaye, the lawmaker representing Kogi West senatorial district in the upper legislative chamber, has again raised alarm over plan to arrest him.
Senator Dino Melaye had alleged that the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris had ordered his arrest, adding that the police boss will also inject him (Melaye) to death.
But reacting to the allegation, the Force Public Relations Officer, Acting DCP Jimoh Moshood, in a statement on Wednesday, denied that there was a plan to arrest Senator Melaye or kill him.
Moshood described Dino’s allegation as “hate speech aimed at putting the force into disrepute before members of the public.”
However, Melaye who is presently in Mississippi, again raised the alarm in a post on his Twitter page on Friday.
According to him, all entrances to his house has been secured by the police.
Melaye called on Nigerians to beware of the tactics by Police against him.
The Kogi lawmaker said: “All entrances to my residence in Mississippi have been secured by the police that claim there is no order to arrest me. One truck by centagon school too.
“Media and Nigerians take note. We have pictures of those involved.They have just zoomed off the trucks leaving 3 men at different end of my street wearing black.
“Two trucks with people wearing black in front on centagon school on Mississippi maitama. Toyota Siena at the entrance of Sangha street,gold colour Honda accord roaming the street.
“Two hilux truck have now blocked my gate with men in mufti numbering 20 Cameras recording. They are trying to plant guns in the cars outside.
“We are watching, they have forcefully entered my compound.”
