Transsion Holdings unveils a news content App in Nigeria

Transsion Holdings, owners of Infinix, Tecno and Itel smartphones has officially launched Scooper, a premium news and fun content App in Nigeria. 

The well designed and intuitive App which already has over 3.8 million downloads from the Google Play Store aggregates its latest news stories and fun contents from strategic sources. 

Speaking at the launch on Friday in Lagos, Nancy Nwachukwu, marketing lead at Transsion Holdings said, with the highly sophisticated technology deployed while developing the Scooper it has some glaring distinction from other news content applications. 

She said Scooper is not just a news App, but a fun informative content App that captures the various interest of readers ranging from sports, opinions, to politics

She stressed that through strategic partnerships with various media outlets and individuals, Scooper will continue to have impeccable professionally generated contents aimed at beef up the reading appetite of its users.

“Scooper App users can explore up news in categories such as politics, lifestyle, sports, business, tech human internet stories and opinion articles. The App is also a great platform for fun videos, GIFs, quizzes, and other branded contents.”

She further explained that partnership with Transsion Holdings undergoes a thorough legally documented process to ensure a win win situation with partners. 

“For those who understands what it takes to partner with us, it’s going to be a great deal,” she said. 

Just like other news content applications which make revenue through Ads, Transsion Holdings will have more focus and preference on user experience, as there will be have a lesser number Ads, so as not to disrupt the content consumption process. 


“For now, our priority is the acceptance by the users and not necessarily to make money. When there is acceptability, then it’s cool to start focusing on how to make money. 

Speaking about the features of the App, Adegbite Michael, Business Development Officer, Transsion Holdings said Scooper is built on high end technology which makes it possible for users to own virtual currency, get betting tips, live match preview and not just reading news contents. 

Michael further revealed that users will have access to tons of different novels across categories such as science fiction, romance, mystery, thrillers and short stories. 

“That is not just all,” he said. “There is also a live commentary feature on the App where Scooper’s in-house commentators give readers real time account of selected football matches across major competitions around the world.”

According to Michael, this compendium of features that make up the App posit opportunities for partnership with the interested media outlets, thus, solely premised on the reputation of Transsion Holding, a company built on integrity.

He said the company is poised to catching the diverse appeal of readers by making sure valuable and informative contents are accessible on the App. “Some people are interested in sports, some politics, or even entertainment. We shall be covering all these areas of interests”, Michael said. 

Scooper users will be rewarded by earning coins or virtual money which could be converted to airtime bonuses, smartphones, or even trip to Dubai at the end of 2019.

According to Michael, anybody who reads news content or refer another prospect to the App through a personified link earns some amount of Scooper coins.

“Depending on the amount of coins earns, a user could get airtime or smartphone while an user who does not redeem its coin till the end of the year qualifies for a trip to Dubai,” he said.

The reality TV star disclosed this on his Instagram story on Friday, sharing a video of the moment he climbed the stage to receive his certificate.

Over the years, He has carried us along his Journey of becoming a trained pilot. In July 2018, Ikechukwu obtained his Private Pilot License and Flight Dispatcher License.

In March 2019, he further disclosed that he obtained his certification as an “Instrument Rated” pilot.

He was also reported to have celebrated passing his Flight Instructor exam in 2023, as he completed his aviation training and earned pilot certification from US aviation authorities in 2024.

Miracle was in aviation school before the BBNaija show and returned to complete his training immediately after clinching the grand prize.
