The President of the Senate Dr Bukola Saraki has denied reports he had congratulated the winner of Saturday’s Kwara Central Senatorial District poll Dr Ibrahim Oloriegbe of the All Progressives Congress, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
In a statement by his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity Mr Yusuph Olaniyonu on Monday, Saraki urged supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party to disregard the report.
The former Kwara State governor said, “The position of the Saraki camp will be communicated to the public later.
“The public should disregard any fictitious statements being issued and shared on WhatsApp.
“In the interim, the APC should stop issuing statements congratulating itself and ascribing it to our camp.”
