Female undergraduate found dead behind Anambra Government House

A 300-level female undergraduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, Anambra State, was on Friday found lying lifeless at the Commissioners’ Quarters area, behind Anambra State Government House, Awka.

It was gathered that while her eyes were allegedly gorged out, her underwear was also removed from her remains.

According to a witness who resides in the area, the student, whose name he simply gave as Pauline, was dropped off dead by a yet-to-be-identified person on a roadside at the Commissioners’ Quarters.

He noted that the true cause of her death has not been ascertained, adding that the corpse has been taken away by the police

His said: “She was found dead without her underwear and two eyes at a junction Before Demonstration Primary and Secondary School, Commissioners’ Quarters, Awka, close to GRA Phase 3, Agu Awka, a suburb of the state capital.

“My advice is for these girls to be mindful of the kind of men they go out with; they should be mindful of these flashy-car-carrying men in town because all that glitters is not gold.”

According to the source, the death is one too many recorded among students of the university.

Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Haruna Mohammed, said investigation was ongoing to ascertain circumstances surrounding the incident.
