UNIZIK Governing Council appoints new Registrar

The Governing Council of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka has appointed Barr. Philomena Iwara Okoye as the 6th substantive Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council of the University. She was appointed on Friday, April 5th, 2019.
According to a statement signed by Dr. Emmanuel Ojukwu, director,
Information and Public Relations/Chief Protocol Officer of the University, prior to her appointment, Barr. Okoye was a Deputy Registrar in-charge of Council matters in the University.
She obtained an LL.B from the University of Lagos 1988 and a B.L from the Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos in 1989.
Barr. Okoye joined the services of the University in 1999 as an Admin Officer.
She has held the positions of Faculty Admin Officer, Deputy Registrar (Council/Legal), Deputy Chief Legal Officer and Acting Registrar.
She was born on the 26th of December, 1963 in Cross River state.
Barr. Okoye is married to Dr. D.O Okoye (late) from Anambra state. The marriage is blessed with 5 lovely children, 4 boys and a daughter.
She assumes duty on Monday, 8th of April, 2019.
