Ondo heeds NAPTIP’s request; inaugurates Task Force Against Human Trafficking

The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Mr Agboola Ajayi, has inaugurated the state Task Force Against Human Trafficking.
This inauguration came at the request of NAPTIP, on the need for states to complement the efforts of the Federal Government and NAPTIP at combating human trafficking.
The Task Force is chaired by the Ondo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Olawoye Adeyeye Adekola and co-chaired by the NAPTIP Osogbo Zonal Commander, Mrs. Kehinde Akomolafe. Members constitute of relevant stakeholders, NGOs, Law Enforcement Agencies, Faith – Based Organisations, etc.
Thereafter, there was a technical session with the newly inaugurated Task Force members, where officials of NAPTIP and UNODC, led by the DG of NAPTIP, Dame Julie Okah-Donli, intimated them on the expectations and the terms of reference.
The Project is being implemented in partnership with the UNODC and funding from the US Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs.
