The Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, has donated a set of palm oil processing machines to one of his constituents, Theophilus Ivo, to boost production.
He said the gesture was part of his programme to boost agricultural output in his constituency through the provision of various agricultural produce processing machines to farmers.
While presenting the machines to the beneficiary on Saturday, Ekweremadu said it was a deliberate effort to enhance the productivity of farmers, with a view to creating more employment in the agricultural sector.
He said the scheme was another opportunity for him to empower his constituents, as their representative.
The beneficiary thanked Ekweremadu for empowering him with the machine and assured the federal lawmaker of his determination to empower and employ more people.
“I have endured the challenge of processing my palm oil produce manually over the years and today, God has changed my story,” he said.
